Baby's First Pedicure

I can only imagine this must be a scrapbook heading in the baby book of many a Beverly Hills mother.

However, today we did celebrate Anna's first professional pedicure.  She beat my record by about 30 years.

And to answer your burning question...of course, she loved it.

We also stopped off this weekend at the brand spankin' new Children's Discovery Center here in town.  Lots of fun!

Recital

Yesterday was Anna's dance recital. We were so proud! She had a great time, of course. Flashy costume, fluffy tutu, the clicking sound of tap shoes, brightly lit stage, and an adoring audience. What's not to love. While she began the semester saying she decided she hated ballet, she now says she wants to be a ballerina of the world and travel with her bestie, Rebecca.

So we laid down the hard truth of reality for her. "Honey, the world is your oyster."

Sad News

Our sweet boy, Ryder, broke his leg this week.  

Both radius and ulna.  He's in a cast, however, the radiologist believes the bone was weak due to cancer.  If so, the bone will not heal and he would have to be in a splint for the rest of his life or have it amputated, which is not really an option with an 11-year-old greyhound.  More likely he has cancer elsewhere, as well.  He will go in next week for a follow-up and we will know more.  We have had Ryder for 8 years, and he's been an absolute prince.  While he's resided with George and Debbie this past year while we've worked through the selling and building of houses, it will still leave a hole in our world.

He was our baby before we had a baby, and Anna doesn't know life without him in it.  It's a sad time.

Family fun

This is what we do for fun around our house. Last night was the season premier of Dr Who. A family affair in our household. We got a little silly with the apple slices and mini-marshmallows.












I think we may have stumbled across some new alien looks for next season.
